Surrender

Hearing the song "enadhu udalum uyirum porulum sakalam ramanarpanam", i felt that it was the wrong thing to do. Sri Ramana said about surrender in answer to a question "what is there to surrender? do you own anything to surrender? what needs to be surrendered is the thought that says so"

The meaning of the song is "my body, life and material, all of this i surrender to ramana" and i think it should be "the thought that i own the body, life and material, i surrender to ramana".

This entry came as an inspiration while reading Nothing Ever Happened, a 3 volume book on Sri Poonja Maharaj, compiled by Sri David Godman.

Fair enough, if one follows Ramana's direct path. Otherwise, Bhagavan did say that surrender everything in bhakti towards the Guru/God, for those who couldn't give up the "I" easily.
